Old Cairo:
Cairo’s earliest remains are to be found to the South, in old Cairo, in an area intimately linked with earlier Christian history.
The tour starts at the Coptic museum which houses a rare collection of ancient christian relies including remains of architectural works, textiles, icons, and old manuscripts reflecting history of Coptic civilization, then to the Ben Ezra synagogue, the first Jewish synagogue ever built. Most of the old Churches are located in the Old City ; the hanging church, dating to the late 4th and early 5th century. Like: St Serguis, St Mina, The Virgin's church, and St George church.
